Matt Plays, an East Coast designer for Burton, designed this sweet poster in collaboration with Type Hike to commemorate the 100th year of our National Parks being open. I chose Doug Fir for this project because this felt a little bit like a piece you might see when you walked into your grandfather's cabin on a lake - nothing remarkable or elegant, but certainly full of charm and character. Fir is also native to Maine and the Acadia area. Reversing the grain direction on the splines was a really fun touch for me on this frame...something I had never done before, but hope to do again given the right wood species.
