This was the true second piece of furniture I've built, and it certainly didn't come without it's challenges. Maple in and of itself being one of them—durable and stable yes, but also so hard on your tools. There was little grace here for joints not being flush. I hadn't worked with Maple in a long time until this piece, and this was a fun reminder of all inherent beauty Maple has to offer as a machining species, not to mention the final product it's capable of yielding.
