This grain-matched Sapele frame was a wedding gift for dear friends of mine. It's always neat to have clients involved in the process as much as possible when creating custom work, and this piece was no exception. Brooke and Danny were able to be on hand at the lumber yard to select the lumber, and were involved in every step of the process - from selecting the finish of the paper to the quality of the glass. I had never tried adding a third spline in a frame before until this one, and while it probably doesn't serve to add much strength, I think it adds a nice aesthetic touch that the viewer doesn't expect, without detracting from the image overall.
