Built in 1892, this remarkable Queen Anne home has the distinction of being on Portland’s Historic Registry. The owner was looking for some spacial upgrades that catered more to this centuries lifestyle. They brought in Workaday A+D and partnered with TaylorSmith in order to see their vision come to fruition. The team masterfully brought this house into the 21st century while maintaining it’s historic charm and replicated many of the original details.
We were hired to do a full trim out. There were no off-the-shelf details spec’d for this residence. We hung doors, installed base, case, crown and box beams—all with profiles custom run by Creative in Portland. The upstairs hallway (not pictured) had some radius crown details we tied into original crown. The mudroom was a full addition, and we cased openings, ran paneling, and hung radiused floating shelves.
